Learning Environments for Tomorrow’s Learners

Reimagine the Learner Experience.
Reimagine the Learning Spaces.
Reimagine How Professionals Learn.

Transforming Beliefs, Transforming Practice, Creating Equitable Schools Everywhere

We have supported school networks in Nevada, Kentucky, Virginia, and Vermont, bringing school systems
together to create statewide communities of practice that support innovation.

Socol Moran Partners has provided key support to the Nevada Future of Learning Network, as they have built a unique and uniquely empowering Portrait of a Learner.
At the Carnegie Summit 2024, we used our Dream Protocol to help educational leaders see a path forward.

Learner-Centered-Learning

How We Help: Are you creating schools for kids who will live and work into the 22nd Century- schools driven by curiosity and learner choice?

We work with teams — grade or content teams, innovation teams, design teams, planning teams, leadership teams, or professional learning teams — to develop schools that support children as they grow into the creative, inventive, empathetic, and communicative lifelong learners our communities, our economy, and our world needs for the next 100 years.

Within our interactive workshop model, we encourage participants to challenge the myths of ability, grouping, fixed time and curriculum, lesson planning, testing, and grading as they work together to develop and use a Portrait of a Learner to implement practices that support the knowledge, dispositions, and skill-sets that learners need to thrive in life - not just in school.

Whether creating a state Portrait of a Learner,
Reimagining how a high school offers classes,
evaluating how space and time are used,
or building professional learning that models the future of learning,
Socol Moran Partners crafts unique solutions with you.

Change is hard, and Isolation makes it harder. Across the nation we have helped build and support networks that bring leaders and teams together in collaborative learning and peer support. From Vermont to Nevada, in Kentucky and Virginia we have seen what these networks can accomplish.

Schools Accessible to All

What We Offer: All children are likely to experience trauma and inequity in their lived experiences - by circumstance of birth, demographics or economics, disability, geographic location, or the times in which we live. We believe that learning success begins with understanding the assets and strengths of every child, adolescent, and teen, regardless of their life circumstances. We begin with the premise that every student comes to us not knowing less but knowing different.

We help educators build locally effective plans to break through the limitations that life can impose on our children. We bring deep experience from work with educators, whether in rural Iowa or suburban New York, southern Illinois or New England towns, and a fresh perspective through onsite and virtual engagement with educators to develop strategies that positively impact and bring opportunity to every child.

What We Do: It’s not possible to change student learning without changing the way adult professionals learn.

We will help you develop the immersive, transformative professional learning structures that your schools need.

Professional Study for Today’s Biggest Challenges

How We Support Your Team: We believe that professional study is essential, but we also respect educators’ time and energy. We know there just isn’t time to find the kind of resources you need to inform new thinking and new actions.

We can help your staff generate authentic action research using our customizable observation, interview, and learning walk tools. We create professional study websites that serve as asynchronous choice boards educators can read, watch, listen to, and use collaboratively to define their own learning pathways, leading to school communities where teachers and students grow together.

Space for their future

What We Do, with You, With Architects: All over the world, educators accomplish amazing work with young people in antiquated classrooms. However, when learning spaces are grounded in ergonomics, the science of learning, the daily need for a variety of settings, and are geared toward contemporary learning tasks individually and collaboratively, young people are liberated.

From new construction to low-cost reimagination, we can help you through the process of codesigning equitable learning spaces that better support the culture, practices, tools, and time that your students need to thrive.

How We Help: The creative and resilient leaders that school communities need aren’t born that way. Leaders must continuously upgrade -not just update- their expertise, skillfulness, and knowledge to successfully navigate the changing landscape of today’s schools and districts,

We facilitate leaders, experienced or novice, to develop depth of knowledge about future-driven learning, hone coaching skills, use feedback cycles, and facilitate team and community protocols. Our model is straightforward in teaching why, when, and how to say yes to bold and strategic innovation, create a culture supporting team agency, leverage resources, observe and analyze results to inform decisions, and move from small steps to big change across a school or school district.
