Who We Are

We are advisors. Advisors to educational leaders ready to make transformational changes in their schools. Ready to begin creating schools truly designed for what today's learners need for their tomorrows.

We get to know our clients through the strengths and assets of their school or district. We have learned from our own work as educational leaders that canned presentations and catch-phrases can entertain - and we can be inspiring and fun! However, if you have a mission to transform learning so all learners thrive not just survive school then we know it takes hard work and time to build and sustain learning communities.

We begin by observing with you, by understanding your schools and your students. Then we help you bring your current state together with your Zero-Based Thinking 'dream state.' Then, with our decades of experience, and our volumes of research, we help design your path to the future.

We form codesign teams with clients to customize and create professional learning opportunities and experiences to reimagine space, culture, time, tools, and practices. We are comfortable working synchronously onsite or virtually and asynchronously with structured options for staff to build knowledge and competence.

We can help you work with faculty. We can help you work with architects. We can help you reimagine your technology systems. We can help you choose furniture. We can help you work through needed support staff changes. But at our very best we can help you plan to change the full User Experience of your school(s), and can provide embedded, individualized advice all along your path.

We formed Socol Moran Partners because we believe in the power of educators to change lives.

Our careers span a variety of life experiences that brought us together to collaborate with teams to create innovative learning pathways so that students value coming to school to be a member of their school community. We learned that each school community represents a unique identity, culture, and potential. That’s where we begin our work with you.

Pam’s began her career as a teacher in a Title I middle school. She also taught high school biology. She has served as a professional learning coordinator, elementary and middle school principal, assistant superintendent for student learning, and superintendent of a diverse school district with 14,000 students and 26 schools. She has a masters and doctoral degree from the University of Virginia.

Ira came to education along a non-linear route. He was not a “good” student in school, in fact, he’s dyslexic and knows what it means to be marginalized as a learner. In college he majored in studio art, attended architecture school, and became an NYPD detective, all before moving into K-12 education through a vocational rehabilitation role working with handicapped youth and working in a tech department while completing a degree at Grand Valley State. This led to a doctoral program in special education at Michigan State.
